Welcome to Bumblebee Cottage

The cottage has a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, with a stable door opening directly onto the courtyard. Quiet footpaths begin nearby, and the nearest dog-friendly beach is less than two miles away—only around five minutes by car.

Open-Plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner

Bumblebee’s bright open-plan living space has practical wood-effect flooring and a well-equipped kitchen with an electric cooker and induction hob, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, microwave and toaster.

Relax on the comfortable sofa in front of the wood-burning stove on cooler evenings, or open the doors to enjoy the fresh country air and birdsong. A large Smart TV and free unlimited superfast Wi-Fi make cosy evenings easy, while the windows offer lovely views across the fields towards Happisburgh Lighthouse.

King-Size Bedroom
The peaceful bedroom has a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed, bedside tables, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Wake to lovely views across the surrounding Norfolk fields.

En-Suite Shower Room
The modern en-suite has a shower, toilet, hand basin, shaver point and useful storage—everything you need for a comfortable stay.

OUTSIDE:

Courtyard
Bumblebee has its own fully enclosed courtyard with comfortable outdoor seating and countryside views. A gate in the three-foot solid wooden fencing provides access to the shared paddock, while the private two-seater hot tub offers a peaceful place to relax together.

Paddock
Guests at Bumblebee have access to our shared enclosed paddock. Its post-and-rail boundary includes stock fencing with additional wire mesh around the lower section.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, we ask that only one cottage uses the paddock at a time unless guests have spoken and are confident that their dogs are happy to mingle.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Our usual bookings run from Saturday to Saturday.
• Short breaks may occasionally be available between December and February, excluding school holidays—please contact us to check availability.
• Check-in is from 5pm and check-out is by 9am. Earlier arrival or later departure may occasionally be possible by prior arrangement.
• Bumblebee is a strictly non-smoking property.
• Electric-vehicle charging is not available at the cottage. There is no dedicated charging point, and vehicles must not be charged from a domestic socket.
• Please do not leave your dogs alone in the cottage unless you are completely confident that they will remain calm and settled. Crates in various sizes are available on request for crate-trained dogs.
• If you would like to go out for a few hours, we can recommend trusted local dog sitters who have cared for our own dogs.
• Barbecues are not permitted because the surrounding fields are frequently planted with wheat or barley, creating a fire risk.
• A washing machine is available in the shared laundry room; a small charge applies.

ACCESSIBILITY

Bumblebee is a single-storey cottage, and we can provide several items to assist guests with limited mobility. Please contact us before booking so that we can discuss your individual requirements.

Mobility-equipment charging: Mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs and electric bicycles may be charged in the on-site garage by prior arrangement.

Parking: The gravel parking area is approximately 20 feet from the entrance, with a paved-slab path leading to the patio.

Entrance: There is one step through the French doors. A mobility ramp can be provided and left in place throughout your stay.

Inside the cottage: The French doors provide a wide entrance, the living area is open plan, and hard, non-slip vinyl flooring is fitted throughout. There is also a large non-slip mat in the living area.

Shower room: The cottage has a walk-in shower cubicle. Depending on the size required, a shower stool may be available. Suction grab rails and a toilet frame with a raised seat can also be provided on request.

• A dog welcome hamper containing treats, toys, waste bags and other thoughtful extras.
• Water bowls, dog towels and ‘Ruff and Tumble’ drying mitts. Drying mitts are also available to purchase.
• Protective throws for sofas and beds, plus helpful sofa steps.
• Crates in sizes S, M, L and XL, available on request.
• A private fully enclosed courtyard and access to our shared enclosed paddock.
• A dog buggy available to hire.
• If your dogs normally sleep on the bed with you, please bring your own bed linen and suitable throws.

For You:

• Free superfast Wi-Fi, with speeds of approximately 150 Mbps.
• Electricity, heating and hot water included.
• Fresh bed linen plus tea, hand and bath towels.
• All pillows and duvets are non-feather.
• Tea, coffee and sugar, together with complimentary coffee and chocolate pods for the Tassimo machine.
• Fluffy towelling robes for enjoying the hot tub.
