Bumblebee is a one bedroom cottage in the heart of rural Norfolk.  We’re under 2 miles (about a 5 minute drive) to the nearest beach and in the middle of a network of quiet public footpaths that take in the local pubs, beaches and local landmarks.  Bumblebee has a large, open plan lounge/dining room with a kitchen that has a stable door that can be opened onto the courtyard where you’ll find Bumblebee’s very own 2 seater hot tub.

Open-Plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner

Vinyl wood-effect flooring throughout the lounge/kitchen-diner with an electric cooker with induction hob, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, microwave and toaster. There’s a large smart TV in the lounge and free unlimited superfast Wi-Fi so you can access all your usual online viewing. Snuggle up on the comfortable sofa in front of the wood burning stove for those frosty nights or throw the doors open and let the fresh air and bird song in on a sunny evening. Views across the fields and towards the lighthouse.

OUTSIDE:

Courtyard
Bumblebee has its own patio area with seating and direct access to the paddock through 3ft solid wooden fencing.

Paddock
The paddock fencing is slightly higher than the courtyard, but not solid. There is wire stock fencing between the post and rail fencing with chicken wire netting halfway up.  Guests staying at The Walnut and The Peanut have shared access to the paddock, but only one property may have use at one time unless you have made arrangements with the other guests on the site and are happy to mingle.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Bumblebee is a non smoking property.
  • Bookings are from Saturday – Saturday with short breaks sometimes available out of season (Dec – Feb excluding school hols) if there is the availability
  • Check in is at 5pm, check out by 9am please. (Early arrival or late departure might be possible by prior arrangement).
  • Electric car charging is NOT available at this property.  There is no dedicated charging point and “granny charging” is not insured.
  • We would prefer that your dogs are not left alone in the property unless you are 100% confident that they will not get stressed. If they are crate trained and you would like to use a crate, please do ask us, we have various sizes you can use while you’re here.
  • Dog sitting.  If you would like to go out for a few hours and leave the dogs but are not confident they will settle, we can recommend some local dog-sitters who have looked after our own dogs.
  • We’re happy to accept and put away a supermarket delivery on your behalf on the day of arrival, between 2 and 3 pm.
  • There is no BBQ as the surrounding fields are often sown with wheat/barley.
  • The washing machine in the laundry room has a small charge for use.
  • The paddock is available for guest use at all times but we do ask that only one set of guests use this at a time unless your dogs have met and are all happy to be together.

ACCESSIBILITY

Parking:  Parking is on the gravel drive, approx 20ft away from the door with paving slabs path to the patio.
Steps: There is one step into the french doors but a mobility ramp can be left for use throughout the stay.  The property is single storey.
Door widths:  French doors provide wide easy access.  Living area is open plan.
Flooring type: Hard, non-slip vinyl flooring throughout. Large non-slip mat in living room area.
Bathroom facilities: Walk in shower cubicle.  Shower stools may be able to be provided depending on size required.  Suction grab rails can be provided on request – these can be positioned to suit our guests.   Toilet frame with a raised seat can be provided on request.
Mobility scooter charging:  Scooters, wheelchairs and electric bikes can all be charged in the garage on site.

For Doggy Visitors:

  • Dog water bowl, dog towels, ‘Ruff and Tumble’ dog drying mitts (available to purchase from us), poop bags, treats and toys in our doggy hamper.
  • Large/medium/small crate(s) available on request.
  • Fully enclosed courtyard.
  • Fully enclosed paddock.
  • Sofa and bed throws but please provide your own bed linen if your dogs sleep with you.

For Human Visitors:

  • WiFi and superfast internet (150Mbps).
  • All electricity, heating and hot water.
  • All bed linen and towels (tea, hand and bath).  All our pillows and duvets are non-feather.
  • Tea, coffee, sugar and some complimentary coffee/chocolate pods for the coffee machine.
  • Information folder.
  • Discount vouchers.
  • Fluffy towelling robes.
  • A selection of walking, cycling, OS maps and laminated footpath routes.
  • Table-top ironing board and iron.
  • Family games.
  • 2 seater hot tub.
  • Books.
  • Laundry Room (small charge for use of washing machine).
  • Luxury welcome hamper.
  • All major supermarkets deliver to Bumblebee Cottage and we can arrange to take delivery of your shopping and put it away for you.  If you are arranging a delivery please opt for Walnut Cottage or Willow Farm Cottage in the drop down list and please don’t forget to let us know if you want us to put it away for you before you arrive! We can accept deliveries between 2 and 3pm on the Saturday of your arrival.
